About Dr. Cindy Ross
I’ve experienced my fair share of sickness and loss, which has fueled my passion for helping others live their healthiest and most fulfilling lives. My journey into Health Sciences has been a blessing, allowing me to use research-based approaches to uncover the root causes of symptoms, correct imbalances, and support the body’s natural ability to heal for lasting wellness.
Read on to learn more about my personal journey. If you’re ready to take control of your health, prevent disease, and enhance your quality of life, I’d love to work with you to create a personalized plan tailored to your needs.
My story begins with a love for tennis. At 17, I turned pro and played on the WTA circuit for a year, training at prestigious institutions like Harvard, Cambridge, and Nick Bollettieri’s Tennis Academy in Florida. At 18, I earned a full scholarship to Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, where I competed at the collegiate level.
Unfortunately, my tennis career was cut short when I began experiencing excruciating pain in my wrists. This led to bilateral surgeries on both hands, followed by months of recovery and rehabilitation. While this chapter of my life closed earlier than I had hoped, it set me on a new path—one dedicated to health, healing, and helping others achieve their best lives.
Never in a million years did I think I’d be able to lift weights again—but I’ve proven myself wrong time and time again. Every elevated triceps dip I perform is a testament to my resilience. With the right combination of diet, supplements, and medication, my Rheumatoid Arthritis is under control, and I feel stronger than ever. Just as I accomplished my goals in my youth, I continue to push boundaries and achieve new milestones.
After competing for more than two years in Open and Master’s Figure bodybuilding competitions, I’ve come to see my RA as a source of determination rather than a limitation. In 2022, I transitioned my love for tennis into pickleball, quickly mastering the sport and going on to win Nationals. It has shaped me into someone who embraces challenges and faces each day with purpose.
At 40, I returned to school and earned a Master’s Degree in Nutrition from the American College of Healthcare Sciences. Determined to go even further, I earned a Doctorate in Natural Medicine and a Ph.D. in Natural Health Sciences. After losing my favorite person in the world, Uncle John, to cancer, I was inspired to turn my grief into purpose. This led me to obtain my Doctor of Naturopathy, become multi-board certified, and specialize in integrative oncology. My mission is to honor his legacy by helping others navigate their health challenges with compassion, expertise, and holistic care.
You may know me from my nutrition and fitness companies, Bodies By Cindy and Fat to Fit with Cindy Lane Ross, but over time, my passion for health and healing has evolved into something more specialized—Life Wellness Forever.
At Life Wellness Forever, I focus on addressing complex health challenges by combining hormone balancing, gut health optimization, and nutritional changes. Using blood work and other diagnostic results from referring physicians, I collaborate with medical doctors to create personalized treatment plans. These plans often include tailored dietary adjustments, natural supplements, and targeted strategies to help patients regain their health and vitality.
My greatest motivation for pursuing advanced education, including a Ph.D. in Natural Health Sciences, stems from my family’s health struggles. Both of my parents passed far too soon from autoimmune diseases—my mother from complications of Scleroderma and my father from Type I Diabetes. My brother Chad also lost his battle with Type I Diabetes at just 33 years old, and I have faced my own journey with Rheumatoid Arthritis since the age of 19, enduring over 22 surgeries. These experiences have shaped my commitment to helping others find hope, healing, and a path to better health.
The sun had set on my once-promising tennis career, and with my diagnosis, my dream was over. Everything in my life, including my functional health and wellness, felt disrupted.
In the years that followed, I lost my way. Grieving multiple family losses, including my mother and brother, left me feeling adrift and depressed. I turned to food for comfort, and my illness began to take control of my life. But one day, I made the decision to fight back and reclaim my health and my future.
Setbacks are a part of life—some of us face more than others—but what truly matters is finding the strength to pick yourself up and believe that you can live your best life, no matter the challenges.
I pulled myself out of despair and went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. From there, I built several world-recognized fitness and wellness programs. I later earned a Ph.D. in Natural Health Sciences, became board-certified in Nutrition, and celebrated a new milestone in my journey of helping others achieve health and happiness.
