The purpose of this study was to assess whether phytoestrogen foods can help menopausal women balance hormones naturally. Phytoestrogens are plant-based estrogens. Phytoestrogen foods show the reduction of symptoms during menopause.  Estrogen deficiency is a big concern as women start noticing signs of entering menopause and this hormone is needed to sustain a high quality of life as age progresses. Low levels of hormones are linked to many life-threatening diseases in women including various cancers and heart disease. Phytoestrogens have been proven to have numerous health benefits for a happier life. When phytoestrogens are consumed by menopausal women, these foods mimicked the estrogen naturally occurring in the body. A phytoestrogen-rich diet including high isoflavones has shown health benefits in elimination of Western diet diseases. These studies are based on controlling hormones naturally by using dietary phytoestrogens in the diet. Long term safety and doses are an increased concern throughout the research of these 10 studies. The data collected is measured on short-term duration and effectiveness. The results of these studies show a favorable outcome of increasing estrogen levels in women of  perimenopause and postmenopausal state and minimizing the symptoms of degenerative diseases. The conclusive evidence collected shows consistency of eliminating hot flashes in menopausal women.
